Verlagern

VERLAGERN is a series of performances that deals with physical states and relocations. This research began during my adaptation period to Germany, towards the end of 2010. In this new context the Verlagern dance went through my body and it came heavily – creating questions about crystallized and stabilized cultural patterns which included speaking, gestures, the relation between public and private spaces, the occupation of spaces themselves. According to Helena Katz, “Bodies don’t refuse information they experience” (A cidade e a dança que acontece nos palcos, 2010-Brazil ), and at that point it was worth it to interpret and go beyond what my body felt about displacements.

VERLAGERN é uma série de performances que lidam com estados físicos e deslocamentos. Esta pesquisa começou durante meu período de adaptação à Alemanha, final de 2010. Nesse novo contexto, a dança Verlagern atravessou meu corpo e veio fortemente – criando questões sobre padrões culturais cristalizados e estabilizados que incluíam a fala, os gestos, a relação entre o público e espaços privados e a ocupação deles próprios. Segundo Helena Katz, “Os corpos não recusam as informações que vivenciam” (A cidade e a dança que acontece nos palcos, 2010-Brasil ), e a essa altura foi preciso interpretar e ir além do que meu corpo sentia sobre todo o deslocar-se.

Verlagern
: deslocar, to displace.
Ajustes: Anpassungen, adjustments.
The body is the document of its own history. It affects and influences the environment, enjoying the movements of instability as a condition of existence. The urgencies that are expressed in the body and by the body are permeated by subjectivity, shaping and qualifying the constitution of things in the world, defining invisible limits and embodying displacements.
How can a way to see the world organizes itself  as a dance and takes its place back in the world?
Verlagern e ajustes is about the flows that cross and are established into the body, on the transit between difficulties and pleasures of a change of context, culture.

Verlagern: deslocar, to displace.
Ajustes: Anpassungen, adjustments.
O corpo é o documento de sua própria história. Afeta e influencia o ambiente, usufruindo dos movimentos de instabilidade como condição de existência. As urgências que se expressam no corpo e pelo corpo são permeadas pela subjetividade, moldando e qualificando a constituição das coisas no mundo, definindo limites invisíveis e corporificando deslocamentos. Como pode um modo de ver o mundo se organizar em dança e se recolocar no mundo? Verlagern e ajustes trata dos fluxos que se cruzam e se instauram no corpo, no trânsito entre as dificuldades e os prazeres de uma mudança de contexto , cultura.

VERLAGERN - WHAT IS LEFT

What is left, was developed by Marcela Reichelt as a dance solo format. It is a second step of Verlagern serie’s work. It is a search through the body made by exhaustion, insistences, relocations and frictions. Its fragility is its potentiality, and its movement is made of resilience. It’s about new arrangements that the body learns for itself from old patterns, and what would be found while it keeps on by resistance. The wastage or detrition let old patterns go, since they no longer feed nor fit this body. This process of exhaustion may allow a redefinition and creation of new physical memories – the process of revealing the remnants of resistances, residue, the rest. It is about experiences which are transformed and embodied in moments of huge transitions. It’s a movement made by challenges and resistances.
